Our stance on social media

BH Avatar

When Step Up Network CIC started in 2022, X (formerly Twitter) was where we found our voice. It was where we shared our first ideas, connected with people who believed in what we were building, and began growing a community around our work. For that, we’re genuinely grateful.

But as we’ve evolved, so has the way we think about communication, community, and impact. We’ve reflected on our vision, mission and values and have identified has a group of ethical leaders we believe we need to slightly shift how we communicate through our usage of social media.

Why We’re Shifting

Over time, we’ve reflected on where we can have the most meaningful engagement with our community. We want to be present in spaces that allow for:

  • More constructive conversations
  • Better storytelling and visibility for our work
  • Stronger, more inclusive community building

We’ve also considered how platforms are managed and the kind of environment they create for organisations like ours. We also believe that our values do not align with some of the platforms we have used.

What This Means

We’re not leaving X entirely—but we will be significantly reducing how active we are on the platform. Instead, we’ll be focusing our time and energy on LinkedIn and Instagram whilst maintaining our presence on other platforms. As a reminder you can also find us on:

These are the spaces where you’ll find our latest updates, insights, opportunities, and content going forward.

Staying Connected

If you’ve followed our journey on X, thank you—you’ve been part of our story from the beginning.

We’d love for you to continue that journey with us on the platforms above, where we’ll be sharing more regularly and engaging more deeply.

Looking Ahead

This shift is about being intentional—choosing the spaces that align best with our values, our work, and the community we’re building.

We’re excited about what comes next, and we hope you’ll be part of it.
